Jennie is a Criminal Barrister with over 15 years of experience working in the criminal justice system.  For 10 years, Jennie was employed by the Crown Prosecution Service as a Rape and Sexual Offences/Child Abuse Specialist Prosecutor. Highly experienced in multi-agency working, Jennie’s role at the CPS allowed her to gain invaluable experience in the child protection and safeguarding arena. The founder of Safeguarding Today, Jennie works as a Consultant at local, regional, and national level for all organisations working with vulnerable groups.  In the last 2 years, Jennie has worked closely at NGB level with the Safeguarding Teams at the English Football League and Motorsport UK, giving Jennie an insight into the safeguarding issues in elite performance sport. 

With over 20 years of Executive Assistant experience at board level, Kelly made the transition from EA to VA in 2019. Partnering with independent business owners and consultants, delivering structured and proactive business support enabling her clients to focus on growing and developing their core business.

Kelly joined SGT in September 2019 and plays a pivotal role in leading the organisation’s business operations. Kelly ensures the smooth day-to-day running of SGT, supporting both the internal team and clients by delivering operational excellence and enhancing business efficiency. Her role is central to maintaining strong client relationships and supporting SGT’s growth and strategic objectives. 

Michelle joined Safeguarding Today in March 2024 as PA to Jennie, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a diverse career across events, healthcare, and education.

As a Virtual Assistant, Michelle has partnered with clients across consultancy, coaching, and creative sectors. Friendly, supportive, and full of energy, she brings a proactive and positive approach to her work at Safeguarding Today. Outside of her role, Michelle is also committed to her local community, actively volunteering on local projects and initiatives.

Carol, a retired police officer is an independent safeguarding consultant within the sport sector.  She was an inaugural member of the National Safeguarding Panel co-ordinated by Sport Resolutions.  Carol has been commissioned by many National Governing Body’s to undertake a variety of roles including; conducting strategic whole sport safeguarding reviews and individual case investigations, the delivery of training, and acting as the safeguarding specialist member on disciplinary panels.  Carol is an independent member of the safeguarding Case Management Group at Badminton England, is a member of the safeguarding support team for the FA Premier Football League and is the Director of Governance on the Board of the Cheshire County Ladies Golf Association.

Libby is a qualified Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting victims and survivors of child sexual and criminal exploitation. She has worked in the Children and Families Safeguarding Team at Walsall Local Authority and as an exploitation specialist with the Street Teams Organisation, providing direct support to children and families. Libby is the founder of The Sex, Lies & Love Project, delivering workshops for children, young people, and professionals on sexual violence, consent, and exploitation, and has worked with schools, sports organisations, and care providers across the UK. In addition, she sits on the board of Operation South America, supporting exploited children in Paraguay. Libby has spoken at national conferences, with clients including the NSPCC, The Children’s Homes Association, The National Working Group, and Inside Government.

With over three decades in Health Care – including 18 years as a Registered Nurse – Sarah brings extensive clinical and safeguarding expertise. Her experience spans dementia care, neurosurgery, acute medicine, emergency assessment, and nutrition, alongside senior roles such as Ward Sister, Senior Nurse, and Named Nurse for Safeguarding. A recognised safeguarding leader in Jersey, she has been instrumental in strengthening public protection arrangements. Her representation of Health in JMAPPA and MARAC enables her to challenge confidently at senior level, securing the best outcomes for clients. She co-developed the Emergency Department’s domestic violence pathway and led the creation of the HCS Safeguarding Champions Network, demonstrating system-wide impact and strong clinical leadership. Resilient, proactive and values-led, she continues to influence practice through training, development and strategic insight.

Jen Dunford brings nearly 30 years of distinguished service as a senior military police officer and Senior Investigating Officer. Her career has been defined by precision, discretion, and a relentless pursuit of truth. She has led complex investigations across diverse environments, consistently upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Jen’s approach is rooted in meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for confidentiality. She understands the importance of delivering outcomes that are not only effective but also ethically sound and tailored to client needs. Her commitment to excellence is matched by a passion for advancing the professionalisation of the investigative field. Known for building lasting partnerships and fostering trust, Jen continues to champion innovation and ethical practice within the investigations industry.

Shari started out in operations, but it wasn’t long before she found herself drawn into the wider world of tech operations and websites. Over the past 12 years, she’s been the go-to person for untangling tricky tech problems and helping teams work smarter, not harder. These days, she brings a mix of creativity, strategy, and hands-on experience, supporting clients to boost their digital presence and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
